Sandton Central is considered the retail and financial powerhouse of Southern Africa and is home to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and numerous banking institutions. It is for this reason that it is often referred to as the ‘Golden Square Mile of Africa’.
Since the opening of Sandton Convention Centre in 2000, it has hosted a variety of international events such as the United Nations POPs, Global Summit of Women, Non Aligned Ministers of Health and the prestigious World Summit on Sustainable Development.
